When our good begins to happen we immediately go into shock and denial from the fear of change. Good change scares us because we have become so accustomed to hard times or engrossed in negative energy that we expect more bad than good. We may have struggled in difficult relationships for years, but it is all we know, so when the opportunity to move on comes about we elect to stay because we are afraid to move forward. We may have a job we really hate, but we are afraid to make changes because we are not sure we can make more money and be happy. We struggle with a number of events and circumstances in our lives as we continue to settle for what we currently have when something good begins to happen because we are familiar with our misery. We are literally shaken and in fear about good changes because they move us out of our comfort zone even though we may be uncomfortable.
This is because we have grown comfortable in our misery. We have found a comfort zone in our pain and it is familiar. We know what to expect in our failing relationships, our jobs we don’t like, and the stress and burdens placed on us from family members. Our lives are totally predictable and we are comfortable being totally uncomfortable because we always know what is going to happen.
When we begin exercising self-mastery, we are changing our behaviors and our minds and as a result we begin to attract positive energy and positive patterns that manifest positive results. Good things seem to blossom out of the bad we have been living for so long out of no where and we are very uncomfortable not being in control of a new experience even though the good is exactly the experience we want. So, because our ego is driven by fear we feel we cannot be out of control even though we are embarking on our good. Thus, we will return to the negative experiences of bad relationships, jobs and careers that don’t satisfy us and continue to deal with family dynamics that beat down our self-esteem.
Through self-mastery you are charting new territory. You are going places you have never gone before as you go deeper within and begin to know who you are. As you continue to explore and discover your POWER your L.I.F.E. continually improves. You begin to experience joy and success in love, in work and in L.I.F.E. You no longer just sit back and allow things to happen to you, or allow others to make or influence your decisions. You take an active part in your own recovery process and stand in your POWER to Live Your Own L.I.F.E. in full measure.
The french say, “Laissez les bons temps rouler” (Lazay-Lay Bon-Tom Roulay), which means “Let the Good Times Roll”. You experience your good one day at a time, just like you did your bad. Each day it gets easier to accept that good is yours and that you deserve to live it. Each day you get stronger and continue to change the patterns and the people who have affected you negatively for so many years. You step into your POWER and begin to Live your L.I.F.E with grace and ease in acceptance and expectancy of your highest and greatest good daily.
Stay the course and allow yourself to experience your fear and look it in the face and say, “Today, I Let the Good Times Roll (Laissez les bons temps rouler) and LIVE! Positive things can happen and will happen. Expect them! Know that they exist and that you can experience them as you continue to do the mental surgery to weed out negative behavior patterns and negative thoughts. Continue to ask the positive “What If…” questions to your negative thoughts and stand in your POWER to receive your good manifest in your experience.
