Independence Day – Being Independently You!

We have to pen our own individual Declarations of Independence to understand that LIFE is fully available for us to LIVE ALL OF IT.

I’ve been writing the Independence Day series now for several years and already have had over 1000 hits on last year’s post on financial independence.  It is rewarding to see you are looking forward to every year with the encouragement, inspiration and fortitude to explore and seek to LIVE your INDEPENDENCE each year.

Our street is barricaded for the 4th of July annual block party and the thunder of the fireworks shakes the houses and all the car alarms are going off.  While it is admittedly loud there is something more explosive in the noise as it shakes my Spirit to find meaning in every activity we exercise on our L.I.F.E. paths.  As I reflect on the thoughts for this year’s Independence message I can’t help but notice how many foreigners we have on our block celebrating the 4th and wonder why they celebrate the 4th with such passion over those of us that are natural born Americans.  I can’t help but wonder if they are simply drawn into the commercialism of the holiday like the rest of us or if they are truly celebrating the independence of our nation.

During the American Revolution, the legal separation of the Thirteen Colonies from Great Britain occurred on July 2, 1776, when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence in a closed session. The congress voted for independence and approved the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776 declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. The day before the Declaration of Independence was adopted, John Adams wrote his wife Abigail the following note:

The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.

Although his prediction of celebrating the nation’s independence was off by a couple of days, Americans celebrate the actual signing date of the Declaration of Independence on the 4th of July every year just as he envisioned and hence the term “Independence Day” was recorded with its first use in 1791.

In John Adam’s note to his wife, he stated that this day should be commemorated as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.  It is interesting to note the reverence in 1776 for the fight to enjoy the privilege of freedom in comparison to today’s  just fire up the bar-bie and set off fireworks and then go back to work tomorrow.  Do we really care about the 4th of July or just enjoy the party? What changed in us after the 4th? More than likely nothing as it was just another day to unconsciously celebrate for the sake of celebrating.

Why did I mention all of that?  Because the point is that each day is a celebration of independence whereby your devotion to the all knowing creator brings about wholeness in your own life.  So in my mind I see Independence Day as a reminder that we continue to fight for our separation from thoughts that seek to rule and govern our life experience.  We have to pen our own individual Declarations of Independence to understand that LIFE is fully available for us to LIVE ALL OF IT.

That is why this year I want to focus on the Independent YOU!  If you are totally living as the Independent You then you will know independence in your relationships, your job or career, family, friends or finances and you will not have to wait until the 4th of July to set off fireworks in your own life.

So how do you have an explosive life filled with fireworks everyday?  YOU LIVE!!!  YOU LIVE FULL IN EVERY MOMENT!!! It’s like eating to much bar-b-que.  You get FULL until you are about to burst.  Full on L.I.F.E. (Living in FULL Expectancy of all your Good Daily)

We cannot enjoy the fullness of the Life journey if we are not willing to look at ourselves and explore every facet of self that is stuck in negative self talk or influenced by other’s decisions.  There is an old saying that says, if you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything.

What do you stand for in your own L.I.F.E.?  What do you want to experience?  KNOW IT!  FEEL IT!  REALLY FEEL IT!  and now BELIEVE IT!  Believe you can have it or achieve it.

I am not speaking specifically of material possessions.  Material possessions only give you more comfort and convenience.  I know you say, but Diva, I can use a whole lot more comfort and convenience!  Yes, I know, and once you understand who you truly ARE and exercise the Independence to BE the person YOU are then you will charge your magnet and attract into your experience all of the material possessions.

Your life experiences bring about the awareness of wholeness igniting the POWER of who you truly are.  Once you are conscious of this knowledge, the comfort and convenience will be coupled with LOVE, PEACE, JOY, HARMONY, HEALTH, WEALTH and EVERY GOOD THING that you DESIRE to experience in your L.I.F.E. (Living in Full Expectancy).

We each have the capacity to LIVE the exact experience we Desire to LIVE. We are not living it because we do not believe in ourselves or understand who we really are and walk blindly in fear everyday.  This is a subtle fear, it is not a conscious knowing or experience of fear, it is deeply rooted in your consciousness holding you back from evolving into the BEING you were created to BE.  A person uniquely designed to LIVE YOUR DREAMS, which are the individually drawn blueprint for your life.

We have no knowledge of our own POWER, but that is why we are to discover ALL of L.I.F.E.  so that we can discover our fountain of youth.  We begrudge ourselves to live in fear and never tap into our fountains.  Tapping the fountain of our youth is the understanding that we die daily and the wisdom to know that we are reborn a-new each day.  We are literally a new child each day on a quest to discover and absorb more of L.I.F.E. each day as we grow in awareness of how to LIVE OUR POWER.

WHAT DOES BEING INDEPENDENTLY YOU MEAN?

It means we are free from the thought comparisons of others.  We listen to our own voice that tells us who we are and who we are to become.  We hear our own voice saying yes you can, yes you will and yes I believe in ME even though no one else believes in me.  It is living in the NOW knowing that you are here to experience all of L.I.F.E. and that when you are feeling depressed and unfulfilled that you are not LIVING YOU!

Our individual experiences are collective in that we associate with others, but it does not mean we are to barter away our happiness thinking that we can exchange a part of ourselves to be fulfilled.  When we barter away our joy, our love, our happiness,we are imprisoned now to what ever we got in exchange.  We are in essence short changed now because we have lost a part of ourselves because we gave it away thinking we were getting more in return.

Independence means you are capable of standing on your own aside from others and need nothing from them because you are aware that you are a self-contained creation designed with the capacity to manifest any and everything that you desire in your life.

L.I.F.E. is not a barter deal.  It is not an exchange to give away one thing for something else.  It is accumulative, always adding to Itself.  It is an agreement, a unique connective and evolving experience that leaves no voids.  It is consistently replenishing itself, healing itself, reproducing itself and making more of whatever IT can DREAM of.  It is an accumulation of experiences that continue to guide you into the direction of your higher awareness as you explore this thing called L.I.F.E.

I have recently counseled several people that were feeling stuck in L.I.F.E. because of what other people have promised them, or didn’t do for them, or feeling they have failed themselves in life somehow.  When you got stuck you were following your certain path of thought that got you there.  Your focus was not aligned with the bigger picture and so you found yourself in a situation or two.

Your good is not dependent on anyone BUT YOU! It is no one’s fault that you missed out on L.I.F.E..  If you miss out, it is your own fault.  We have to take the responsibility for that.  Why?  Because you are here to LIVE FULLY ALL of L.I.F.E..  If you are missing out on any part of it it is no one’s fault but your own.  If you got stuck it’s because you were exploring something without sizing up all the facts.  Meditate on your direction before you leap into something that will potentially get you stuck.

To be an Independent person means you have to be vigilant in overcoming your own fears.  This does not mean you don’t have fears, it just means you are determined to beat the fear and move forward.  If you are stuck in a bad relationship, stuck in the wrong job or career, stuck in the wrong car, stuck in the wrong apartment or living situation, or stuck unemployed or simply stuck on depression.  It is not anyone’s fault.  It is your job to seek the answers within you through your devotion to the Divine to find the answers that get you unstuck.  It is up to you to KNOW that all your help comes from above and is provided to you through the hands of men/women.  These people in your experience are not the source of your good, they are merely the vehicle that brought good into your experience.  Know that your source comes to you through you.

You were born to be INDEPENDENT.  You were created to grow and leave the parents.  You were designed for greatness because you have the MIND that thinks and can manifest into your L.I.F.E. whatever you DREAM of. 

To live INDEPENDENTLY YOU, you have to BE BOLD to BE YOU and KNOW that is what you are here to DO.  You are HERE to LIVE YOUR POWER and manifest YOUR DREAMS!!!

HOW DO YOU LIVE THE INDEPENDENT YOU?

1.  You are designed to make mistakes, it is part of your learning and growth.

You LIVE YOUR POWER when you KNOW that you are the Divine in manifest form exploring all of L.I.F.E. fully in every moment and that you are here in this experience to make mistakes.  This is what the word sin actually means.  So yes!  You were born into Sin.  You were born to make mistakes.  You see the word sin is a word from antiquity in archery that means to miss the mark.  So with this knowledge it is good to know that all you thought was a sin, mistake, mess up, or even your fault is simply a part of your growth.  Why? Because if you made a mistake it was because you were not aware of your truth.

2. You live by Grace and have new opportunities to grow daily into the awareness of your own POWER.

When you become aware and understand your truth you assimilate that information into your experience and you grow to a higher level of awareness.  This is the living in the Grace of Spirit.  You are born to make mistakes, so know it is all a part of the process.  Congratulate yourself on the discovery of truth that you got out of the situation and know you are always being blessed with new opportunities to explore and learn how to LIVE YOUR POWER as the sentient divine being you were created to be.

3.  Forgiveness is penning and signing your own Declaration of Independence in your L.I.F.E.

Forgiveness is your activator.  It brings about the freedom necessary to LIVE YOUR POWER.  When you are locked in a process of non-forgiveness you are focused on what someone else did or didn’t do to you and that cycle will continue to play over and over in your thought process.  This will crystallize a mountain in mind that will be so hard to climb over you will literally stay in the valley of your life experience and never reach the peak so you can watch the fireworks of your own life.  To forgive someone does not mean you will forget the experience.  It means you willfully choose to put the pain behind you and move forward and release that person from any debt you felt they owe you.  You are now willing to learn from this experience and shelve it for future reference that will guide you to navigate through this type of difficulty if it were to arise again in your experience.

Forgiving someone means you are intent on working on you, not trying to improve the other person or insistent on them stroking your ego to make you feel better.  You cannot change anyone’s experience but your own.  Stop trying to make someone else be perfect and work on perfecting you.  Allow them to BE who they are and experience their journey even though they hurt, used or abused you.  Note that you don’t even have to say to the person you forgive them, they may not even be aware that they hurt you.  Just release them along with the pain and hurt  to the Universe and allow it to BE what it is, a learning experience, a lesson.  Spirit will work everything else out.

MOVE FORWARD to the mark of your own HIGH CALLING!  Forgive and move on.  This is your key to FREEDOM, it is the signing of your Declaration of Independence in your own L.I.F.E.  It opens you up to be FREE to LIVE YOUR POWER.

4.  No one can live you but you

L.I.F.E. is ultimately all about you.  You are only truly responsible for what you think, what you do, and how you act toward others.  If you are focused on improving you on a daily basis you are not worried about how to fix others.  You will find that your relationships will smooth out and become more genuine as you begin to attract into your experience the mirror reflection of who you are.  Living is ALWAYS about YOU. NO ONE CAN LIVE YOU BUT YOU.

This has to become a practice.  You have to look deep within yourself and find the dark places that you need to shine light on so that they can become illuminated.  Once you allow your inner light to shine, people will see the light beaming from within you.  This light is the glow of LOVE that starts with self.

5.  Be in LOVE with YOU

Living the Independent you means you are living fully in every moment LOVING YOU!  Yes!  I mean really truly loving you.  By truly loving  YOUrself you charge your magnet to attract into your experience everything that you desire in your L.I.F.E.  The only face that love wears is YOURS.  If you want to know what LOVE looks like, look in the mirror.  Know that you are truly looking at the manifest Creator in the mirror as you are created in the likeness and image of all that IS.  You are more than your eyes, your nose, your hair, your body etc…  You are more than just your body.  You are a Divine SPIRIT in a unique experience called ________(your name).  Spirit is living the unique and Divine experience called ________(your name) and Spirit can not and will not fail ITSELF.  All that you dream and desire in your L.I.F.E. is there because Spirit wants to have that experience through YOU and can ONLY have this experience through you.

Look deeply into the mirror and see all of you and accept and embrace All of you.  Your body may not seem perfect to you by the standards of our current media and cosmetic marketing campaigns, but it is 100% perfect to Spirit because Spirit created it for YOU to LIVE IN and YOU have the POWER TO MAKE IT LOOK HOWEVER YOU WANT IT TO LOOK.   Hey!  See That is your POWER!  You can make it skinny.  You can make it fat.  You can adorn it with beautiful clothes or rags.  You can tan it in the sun or shelter it from cold.  You have the POWER to DO whatever you WANT with the BODY you have, and that is only one small miracle of your POWER.  Once you begin to tap into the LOVE of SELF you will find that you have an abundance of POWER to LIVE the INDEPENDENT YOU.

You have the POWER to fully LIVE, to live without fear of rejection, pain, hurt or any other thing because YOU are the manifest POWER here right NOW to LIVE FULLY and FREELY ALL of L.I.F.E.  Feel it!  Feel it!  Yes!  FEEL IT!  These are the fireworks that you LIVE in your own L.I.F.E.  FEEL IT!

So as we close yet another 4th of July, internalize that Independence Day means more than just our country is Free, it means that YOU my dear ones are totally and 100% FREE to LIVE YOUR POWER and manifest the DREAMS you have surging within you.  LIVE YOUR POWER!  LIVE FREE!  LIVE FULLY in EVERY MOMENT and BE the INDEPENDENT YOU that you were BORN to BE!
